Antique monastery work with the black Madonna "St. Mary of Altötting" in a flat glass dome (glass lintel); around 1900; two texts on small pieces of paper "Agnus Dei", stands for a prayer in the Eucharist celebration during the breaking of the consecrated bread; and the saying "St. Mary of Altötting - O Mary! Mother of mine! let me be commended to you! "; in the centre the black Madonna with sceptre, crown and the infant Jesus in her arms, standing on a black pedestal with a decorated brass band; in the background two angels made of cardboard on a black background; the scene is completed with elaborately folded and rolled paper ribbons which have been gilded at the edge; the outer band on the glass has partly come off at the front (see photos); the monastery work was probably made in the Altötting area; Altötting is the most important place of pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary in the German-speaking world (1489 to the present day) and famous for its "Black Madonna"; traces of use according to age; dimensions: 10.5 x 19.5 x 4 cm
