A very rare piece of jewellery with the image of Empress Elisabeth (Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie von Wittelsbach, Duchess in Bavaria in Munich, Kingdom of Bavaria - Sisi / 1837 - 1898); bronze / made in 1907; the medallion shows on the front side a bust in relief of Empress Elisabeth (Sisi) of Austria-Hungary; on the reverse side the monument of Empress Elisabeth as a seated statue, which was built by Hans Bitterlich and still stands in the Volksgarten, near the Hofburg in Vienna (Austria); under the monument is written: EMPRESS ELISABETH MONUMENT . DISAPPEARED . VIENNA . 1907; this is an original medallion from the then inauguration of the Empress Elisabeth Monument in the Vienna Volksgarten on 4 June 1907; the pendant is signed by the artist and stamp cutter "R. Neuberger"; the ring and the ribbon are still original; a bronze and silver plaque was also produced at that time, the small medallions were produced in smaller numbers and are accordingly rare; an imperial highlight for Sisi collectors; traces according to age and use; measurements: approx. 1.8 x 2.7 cm - weight 5.6 g
