A pair of very wide Ottoman men’s trousers

A pair of very wide Ottoman men’s trousers (so-called ‘harem pants’); 19th century;  made from violet velvet, triple-stitched, and lined with white fabric; the front, back and both sides of the trousers are richly embroidered with shiny silver metal threads and sequins in the courtly style, creating curved floral and leaf decorations; the trousers are open at the top and predominantly closed at the bottom; only the lower portion of the outer side has two small holes for the legs, hemmed with decorative bands; good condition, no significant damage; Dimensions: length: 93 cm (at the legs); 82 cm (middle); width: c. 98 cm (above)
