Old traditional basket South German 1850 - 1880

Old decorative (traditional costume) basket with lid to open and coloured leather application; probably South German 1850 - 1880; the basket including lid is trimmed with dyed leather, on the lid an embroidered monogram "U.M.. "; handmade from wickerwork and various types of dyed leather; small pieces of leather are missing in places and the bottom of the basket is somewhat holey (see photos); a great decorative object, but also goes well with any dirndl and is a real eye-catcher; traces according to age and use (slightly damaged - see photos); dimensions: ∅ top: approx. 28 x 35 cm - ∅ bottom: approx. 19.5 x 24.5 cm; height with handle: approx. 36 cm - basket height: approx. 19 cm
