Antique Alpacca Chainmail Purse Set, Evening Bag and Coin Purse, Stamped, Circa 1900 to 1910

Here we present a wonderful 2-piece set of antique chainmail purses crafted from Alpacca, made circa 1900 to 1910. The ensemble consists of a large evening bag and a small coin purse, both perfectly reflecting the elegant character of Art Nouveau. Both purse frames are decorated with floral ornamentation, with the frame of the large bag additionally standing out through flowing lines and 1 central rosette. Both pieces feature the Alpacca stamp on the side. The large evening bag is equipped with 1 sturdy carrying chain, while the small coin purse features 1 fine eyelet with a carrying ring to attach it securely to a belt or clothing. Small metal beads are attached to the bottom rim of the large bag, 1 of which is presumably missing.

A few chain links have detached near the frame ends on each piece, otherwise both purses remain in 1 good antique condition with a nice age-appropriate patina. The measurements are approx. 18 x 18 cm for the large bag and approx. 7,5 x 6 cm for the coin purse, with a total weight of approx. 338 g.
