Watercoloured pencil drawing by Johann Christian Kröner (1838 Rinteln - Düsseldorf 1911); signed and dated by the artist; 1895 - Sketch of a roebuck, watercoloured pencil drawing on paper (slightly browned) framed with passe-partout; Christian Kröner was an important German hunting and landscape painter from the Milleu Düsseldorfer Schule, the Künstlerverein Malkasten and from 1885 member of the Berlin Academy; around 1900 he was regarded as the leading hunt painter of the Düsseldorf animal painting; sketches by Kröner are rare; his exhibitions reached up to the World's Fair in Chicago (1893), Antwerp (1894) and Paris (1900) where his works were awarded prizes; traces according to age and use; dimensions: Picture detail approx. 9x 14,5 cm
