This fascinating collection from the house of Le Galion presents three rare miniatures of the legendary fragrance Sortilège covering different eras of French perfumery. The two oldest pieces date from the period between 1936 and 1940 and impress with their characteristic twelve-sided bottle design made of heavy glass. The fragrance Sortilège was created in 1936 by Paul Vacher who is considered one of the most significant perfumers of the 20th century and was later also involved in the creation of Miss Dior. One bottle from this era features a classic ground glass stopper bearing the brand's historical ship logo while the second specimen is equipped with a brass cap.
The set is complemented by a later miniature of Eau de Sortilège presumably from the 1960s which has a modern white plastic cap also featuring the iconic sailing ship. While the two antique 15ml Sortilège bottles are empty the Eau de Sortilège miniature is still almost completely filled with its original fragrance.
This compilation offers a rare opportunity to document and admire the stylistic development of one of the most exclusive perfume houses in Paris over several decades.
