Products description
This exceptional set tells the story of a charming era of German perfumery: five bottles of the Ellocar brand from the golden 1950s, a brand created by the married couple Elly and Carl Höppner, who produced high-quality fragrances for upscale specialist retailers in Düsseldorf. The name Ellocar reflects the collaborative vision of the founders and stands for quality and style.
Included are three bottles of the men's fragrance Ellocar Herb (1953) in sizes 10 ml, 16 ml, and approx. 25 ml. The large bottle is still sealed, full, with its original box and a brass stopper including a flattened atomizer bulb, which is now hardened. The two smaller bottles are about half full, emphasizing their authenticity and used charm. The Herb fragrance was once popular as a spicy-powdery composition and is today considered a representative of its time.
Additionally, the set includes two bottles of Ellocar Eau de Cologne – one 50 ml and one approx. 8 ml version – both originally sealed. The large one is about one-third full, while the small one contains only a fragrance residue. The design of both bottles reflects the characteristic Mid-Century look, reminiscent of the clear shapes of the post-war era.
This collection not only showcases different sizes of a classic men's fragrance but also highlights the design diversity and business strategy of a traditional German fragrance brand. An appealing addition for collectors who value German perfume history. Signs of wear commensurate with age; no guarantee can be given for the fragrance quality due to its age. The perfumes are offered without a display.
