Historical Pocket Perfume Flacon "Extrait aux Fleurs" (Heliotrope) by Gustav Boehm 1890 to 1910. The House of Gustav Boehm from Offenbach am Main stands for the high quality of German perfumery goods at the turn of the century. This exceptionally well preserved miniature flacon is a direct testament to this era and represents a rare piece of German perfume history. In the era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when fine ladies went to balls, social occasions, and travelled, pocket perfume was an indispensable accessory and a sign of elegance and discretion. The extracts were applied only drop by drop to the skin or the tip of a handkerchief. Such a flacon was not just a fragrance container, but a small work of art that was essential in the handbag or travel gear of a woman of the world. This flacon is a historical collector's item from the Gustav Boehm factory. The small rectangular glass flacon with a height of about 8.5 cm is crowned by a facet cut crystal stopper. On the bottle neck is a gold label with the fragrance name Heliotrope. It is particularly noteworthy that the flacon is still sealed, which underlines its integrity over the decades, even though only slight perfume residues of the concentrated extract remain inside. The front is also adorned with a gold colored label in the elegant Art Nouveau style Extrait aux Fleurs. A particularly important detail is the small gold seal on the back which bears the inscription "Gustav Boehm Offenbach Germany" and guarantees the origin as well as the quality of the perfume. The elaborate original blue casket with glass bead embroidery on the lid and lined in soft pink on the inside shows that this small flacon was once intended as a high quality gift or luxurious travel accessory. It is an excellent and authentic example of perfumery and Art Nouveau at the turn of the century. Traces of use commensurate with age; a guarantee on the fragrance quality cannot be provided due to its age. The perfumes are offered without a display.
