Immerse yourself in the fascinating criminal history of the Cologne fragrance industry with this extraordinary set of 2 historical curiosities from the turn of the century around 1900. The first piece of this curious ensemble is a flat, angular glass bottle with dimensions of approx. 8.3 x 5 x 2 cm and an original aluminum screw cap, inside whose bottle neck authentic historical cork remains can still be found. The heavily yellowed paper label impresses with a fine decorative graphic and the text: "Original Haus Altermarkt 54 Johann Maria Farina" as well as a stamp fragment where "Nach franzφs..." can still be recognized; the bottom of the bottle features an embossed volume specification of approx. 25 ccm.
The second highlight is a beautiful, rare watch flacon made of noble white porcelain with dimensions of approx. 8 x 6 x 2 cm. This showpiece displays a detailed colored view of the Cologne Cathedral on the front with the inscription "Dom zu Cφln", and a small production defect in the porcelain is visible at the bottom edge. On the back of the bottle is the fraudulent, curved inscription "Johann Maria Farina Dr. E. Meitzen am Dom zu Kφln". Decorated with elegant fine gold painting on the sides and on the bottle neck, this porcelain flacon is crowned by a magnificent hollow metal dispenser with a cork sleeve, which has the shape of a sculptured crown.
Signs of wear corresponding to age. The flacons are offered without a display. Both bottles are empty and are in a charming age-appropriate condition. Secure this rare, complete lot of living plagiarism history, which is sure to be a conversation starter in any showcase and is an absolute must-have for collectors of historical perfume curiosities.
