This exceptional lot takes you on a journey through the history of lavender in the perfume world, uniting eight rare flacons spanning over a century, from the late 19th century to the 1950s.
Yardley London – Old English Lavender: The highlight and oldest piece. This fragrance first launched in 1873, and this particular bottle with a brass screw cap is presumed to be from the late 19th century. It still contains fragrance residue.
Boldoot (Founded 1789): Two full bottles from this traditional house: a simple 30ml version and an artistically shaped 20ml bottle, both showcasing the clear elegance of their era.
Cardy – Alt Englisch Lavendel: A 15ml bottle that is full, likely produced between 1930 and 1940 from a small, now almost forgotten cosmetic manufacturer.
Ellocar – Alt Lavendel: A small, dark blue bottle (approx. 7.5ml), which is empty. It features a fine brass screw cap typical of the late 1930s to early 1940s.
Farina Dom zu Mailand – Altes Lavendel: An artfully designed bottle (approx. 35ml) from the 1950s, which combines timeless elegance with Italian fragrance tradition.
Maravilla – Alt Lavendel: A 15ml Mid-Century piece, still one-third full and featuring a beautifully preserved historical label.
Kappus – Hohe Klasse – Feinstes Lavendelwasser: Also from the 1950s (approx. 20ml). It still contains fragrance residue, although the bottle can no longer be opened.
All eight bottles feature well-preserved labels and, in their own way, tell the long and multifaceted history of lavender in the art of perfumery. For collectors of historical fragrances and lovers of lavender, this ensemble is a unique opportunity to hold a small "scent chronicle" in your hands.
The items show signs of use consistent with their age.
