Products description
Rare Art Deco Display Flacon Le Narcisse Bleu by Mury; Art Deco Rarity, Paris 1925. This large embossed glass bottle bears the rare name Narcisse Bleu by Mury Paris and is an impressive testament to the Art Deco era. The fragrance Narcisse Bleu became known in the 1920s and this 500 ml version was presumably created in the first years of production around 1925. The heavy glass is embossed with stylized narcissi and the Mury logo, and the base shows a decorative star shaped embossing that refracts the light wonderfully. The screw cap, in its material and shape, is reminiscent of Bakelite, which was frequently used in the 1920s and 1930s. The small round paper label with the fragrance name Narcisse Bleu is preserved; the bottle itself is empty but in very good condition regarding the fine embossing work and the original color shading. The shape and execution suggest production in Trélon at Verrerie Parant, a glass manufacturer that increasingly produced luxury flacons for perfumeries from 1925 and is known for its semi automatic blowing and moulding processes. Such large format flacons were often used as display objects or as bath oil and Eau de Toilette vessels in perfumery; they served for window presentation and refilling smaller flacons and are very rare today. This example is ideal for collectors of French perfume history, lovers of Art Deco glass, and all who appreciate extraordinary presentation objects. The combination of rare size, embossed glass, original label, and the typical stopper makes this bottle a special decorative piece with historical value. Traces of use commensurate with age. The bottle is empty and is offered without a display.
