Products description

Soir de Paris (Evening in Paris) Bourjois Collection of 6 Bottles, c. 1928-30, Sapphire Blue

Six legendary perfume bottles from the famous sapphire blue Soir de Paris (Evening in Paris) collection by Bourjois, dating from around 1928 to the early 1930s. Three of them come with their original packaging or display, and each one tells a piece of perfume history.

The largest bottle holds about 60ml, is approximately three-quarters full, and features a tinplate screw cap—a characteristic of Bourjois models from the late 1920s and early 1930s. This bottle has the rectangular label designed by Jean Helleu. It is confirmed that Evening in Paris was introduced by Bourjois in the US in 1928, the fragrance was formulated by Ernest Beaux, and the distinctive sapphire blue bottle and design are from Jean Helleu.

The set also includes a bottle half that size, an estimated 30ml, which is empty; and another approximately 30ml bottle, more than three-quarters full, with an elegant, slender glass stopper and a large triangular label—likely Art Deco from the 1930s. On the bottom of this bottle, there is a sticker that says "FACTICE," suggesting it was a display or exhibition bottle that cannot be opened.

The collection also contains a miniature (about 4ml) in its original display shaped like a silver women's high heel, with the tiny bottle nestled inside the shoe. Additionally, there are two bottles with their original cardboard boxes—one with about 15ml and a small bottle of about 7ml, which is likely from a later date (40s or 50s).

This generational collection showcases several variations of one of the most classic perfumes from the Bourjois brand, from large-volume bottles to display objects to miniatures, each with its own character. It is a special enrichment for collectors of rare vintage perfumes, lovers of Art Deco design, and any shelf dedicated to historical fragrance art.

Please note that there are signs of wear consistent with the age of the items, and due to their age, no guarantee can be made regarding the quality of the fragrance. The perfumes are sold without a display.
