Products description

This charming antique miniature figure represents the Berlin Bear in a detailed and sculptural craftsmanship. The bear is perched on a circular pedestal that impresses with fine line and dot ornamentation. The figure was presumably made of bronze or brass and silver-plated, with the authentic patina emphasizing the historical character of the object. This famous bear motif was designed in 1951 by the sculptor Renée Sintenis for the "Golden Bear" of the Berlinale. The pedestal is designed hollow underneath and has an inner diameter of approx. 2.2 cm, suggesting that it may have originally been a decorative bottle stopper for a cork or a lid for a small box. With a total height of approx. 4.5 cm and a weight of 22.5g, this figure is an ideal collector's item for lovers of Berlin memorabilia or antique curiosities. A special object that cuts a fine figure both as a decorative piece and as a historical accessory; signs of use appropriate for its age.
