This charming antique miniature figure of a pug is a wonderful collector's item made of solid silver. The detailed craftsmanship shows the dog in a natural standing pose with its characteristic curled tail. The special feature of this figure is the historical representation: it shows the pug in its phenotype of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Compared to modern breeds, this pug is longer-legged and has a slightly longer snout as well as less pronounced wrinkles – characteristics that perfectly match the dating.
The figure bears the official Austrian hallmark (dog's head hallmark with the digit 3 and letters – 800 silver), which confirms the period of use between 1872 and 1922. With a weight of 42.2 grams, the small sculpture feels solid and high-quality in the hand; signs of use appropriate for its age (see photos); Dimensions: approx. 4 x 3 x 1 cm / 42.2g
