Products description

This extraordinary and decorative metal pipe in the shape of an elephant is a fascinating piece of ethnographic craftsmanship from Southeast Asia. The object is crafted in the stylistic manner of traditional pipes from the Golden Triangle hill tribes. The pipe bowl forms an elaborately detailed elephant head with a trunk and tusks, while the long curved stem is decorated with fine filigree wire work and floral patterns.

The pipe is made of Paktong or white metal and impresses with its dark aged patina. The object dates from the second half of the 20th century and is intended as a purely decorative collector's item. A wonderful eye-catcher for lovers of Asian folk art, curious metalwork, and ethnic decoration. Dimensions: approx. 22 cm; Signs of wear corresponding to age; the object is offered without a display.
