This extremely rare and historically significant imperial court table bonbonniere from the era of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy is a dream collector's item for lovers of Habsburg memorabilia. At the end of such an evening, the magnificent court table bonbonnieres were handed out to the elite society in rooms specifically designated for this purpose. The approx. 7.3 x 5.3 x 3 cm cardboard container impresses with its refined covering, gilded brass and cardboard appliqués, as well as delicate braided cord elements. On the lid, set within a richly decorated oval brass frame, is an approx. 3.5 x 2.5 cm photographic portrait of Empress Elisabeth (Sisi) in her famous 1867 Hungarian coronation gown. The casket rests stylishly on small round brass feet. Except for a missing small piece of cord and a small golden corner element, this authentic ladies' gift is in very beautiful age-appropriate condition.
